| The First International Conference on Prehypertension and Cardio Metabolic Syndrome (PreHT) was held in Vienna, Austria on February 24-27, 2011. |

This unique breakthrough conference was the first of its kind to discuss in depth and in detail the concept of Prehypertension . The conference was a great success, with more than 500 participants from over 30 countries worldwide. The conference focused on the public health cardiovascular disease impact, identification, etiology and pathogenesis of prehypertension as well as on intervention for preventing the adverse outcomes of this very prevalent condition. The conferenceaimed to deal with this new "risk category" for adverse cardiovascular events, as well as the established risk factors and treatments for cardiovascular disease. The Conference chairs included Prof. Hermann Haller (Germany), Prof. Daniel Duprez (USA), Prof. Basil Lewis and Prof. Reuven Zimlichman (Israel). Prof. Stevo Julius from the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Michigan in the United States. was honored as honorary chairman A distinguished international panel of leading speakers from 20 countriesparticipated in the conference. The local Austrian committee included leading experts in the field.

In addition, the conference featured oral presentations and innovator electronic poster presentations as well as a commercial exhibition. The conference included Nephrologists, Endocrinologists, Internal Medicine experts, Primary Care experts, Cardiologists and Imaging experts.
